Putting non-slip bases on your doll stands by Mark Freburg If you are tired of slippery shoes and slippery doll stands, not to mention dolls on the floor, you can make your stands non-slip. Buy some of that non-slip rubber sheeting that comes in rolls. It is sold for use as shelf paper, drawer liners, etc. at WalMart, et al. Simply cut it to shape and glue it on your doll stands. You can put it on factory stands but I use it on Kaiser stands. I just cut it out and glue it on with a glue stick. Actually it's so tacky it probably doesn't need glue at all, but the glue I use is water soluble if I ever decide to remove the, er, "anti-slip base pads." It's sold everywhere and comes in many colors. I have neutral white and some medium blue--I actually lined some kitchen drawers with the blue. Here is a stand with the pad added. Note the roll of the stuff on the left: I didn't cut this real neatly but you can make it fit exactly, or just put a pad in the center. Here's a close-up:
Even slick plastic shoes like these and Barbie shoes won't slip. And if you get the thin stuff like I did, heels won't bury themselves in the rubber: When you back away I think it looks fine: From a more normal doll-viewing distance you don't even see it.
